Hotels and stays

We book the room, not the rate.

Negotiated rates at properties we know, the requests that decide whether you sleep, and an honest word when a public online rate beats ours.

A booking site can show you nine hundred hotels in a city and tell you nothing useful about any of them. We hold rates at a few hundred properties we know, and we book the room rather than the rate, which is the part that decides whether you sleep.

Where a public online rate genuinely beats ours, we will tell you and let you take it. What we sell is judgement, not inventory.

Requests we make for you
    What we book

Four kinds of stay, one standard of asking.

How a room gets booked here

Four steps, and none of them is a search box.

You tell us the trip, not the hotel

Who is travelling, how you like to sleep, what you want within walking distance, and the number you do not want to cross. A shortlist of three follows, never thirty.

We check what the photographs hide

Which wing is being renovated, which floor faces the flyover, whether the pool is genuinely heated in December, and whether the breakfast is worth the plan you are being sold.

The room is requested by name

Not typed into a comments box that nobody reads. We email the duty manager, get it in writing, and re-confirm forty-eight hours out.

We hold it while you decide

Most properties will hold a room for us on credit for a day or two. That is worth more than any discount code during a festival week.

    Groups, weddings and long stays

Ten rooms or three hundred, one rooming list.

Wedding groups, dealer trips, college tours and conference blocks, with a release date you actually understand, a single invoice, and one consultant who knows every name on the list.

    • Room blocks with staged release dates and no surprise attrition charges
    • Rooming lists reconciled against your guest list, not ours
    • Airport transfers sequenced to arrival times, with a named coordinator on site
    • Serviced apartments for stays over three weeks, usually cheaper than a hotel
    • One GST invoice, or one per company, whichever your finance team prefers
    A hotel lobby
The lobby is the photograph. The room, the floor and the wing are the holiday.
